Last day for the general Aoun in Baabda

On October 30th, 2022, the president Michel Aoun spent his last day in office. Western media is often passive-aggressive when describing him, but he basically created the citizenry movement in 1989, and affirmed that Lebanese are not feuding biggots, and we have a true sense of national identity.

Before leaving office, he signed a deal with Israel, on the demarcation of the maritime border. This allows Lebanon to finally exploit its maritime oil and gas wells. President Aoun also attempted to resolve the border dispute with Syria, but was scoffed at. Thos shows that Syria still sees Lebanon as a subordinate, and not an equal. This is why the cause lead by the General Aoun in 1989 is still relevant, to get he neighbouring countries to acknowledge and respect the Lebanese national identity.
